There are times when men and women face extraordinary odds...when it seems as though there is no place on earth that they can find peace, find hope and find joy. I've been there! I know the deep sense of loneliness and the agony of helplessness, but I also know that it is in those moments that men and women of faith are placed under an additional microscope.
I am of the opinion, accurate opinion I might add, that in these moments we realize that our challenges are not our own...they are for those within our sphere of influence as well. Much like Jonah...God sent him to Ninevah and he chose to head to Tarsish. Silly boy, trying to outrun God. Didn't work for him, didn't work for me, not gonna work for you! Has it ever occurred to you that there must have been other boats on the sea that evening?
Jonah caused countless others to suffer through the storm as well. They had to have heard the story, told the story and witnessed the story that day. Well, what will it be when you are faced with your storm? Will you recognize it as an opportunity to prove God's faithfulness or will you fold under the pressure...remember, there are other boats out there in your sphere!
As for me, well, it's a never ending struggle. I love and I trust my God. He is always faithful, He is always just. But me, I seem to grow more like the Israelites everyday. I seem to be a man after God's own heart one day and and a spiritual wimp the next.
My prayer is that I would become as confidant as Jonah became, with a few less storms along the journey!
I'd love to hear your story...email me and let me know how I can help.
My desire is to assist people reach and exceed their potential...it can be done, but you must choose to start the journey...let's go to work.
